A Pro-Trump Grassroots Demonstration rocked the city of Flint on Saturday, February 17th. A group of individuals associated with the Genesee County Republican Party entered the democratic stronghold to show that some citizens of the city are in fact in support of President Trump’s wall and his agenda. The community’s response was absolutely unbelievable. With their “Honk for the Wall” signs on display, there was a never-ending laying of horns on Corunna Road, one of the most popular roadways in the city of Flint. In fact, some pro-Trump drivers decided to stop and join the demonstrators. Obviously, there was an occasional negative reply with one vehicle physically assaulting former State Senator David B. Robertson by throwing a water bottle at him.
All in all, this is proof that Republicans across the state must understand that there is potential in cities like Flint, Pontiac, and Port Huron in 2020. President Trump is the perfect candidate to target and acquire the votes of these mostly blue-collar communities across the state of Michigan. His America-First agenda has helped working-class families the most. Whether it be a tax cut of $2000 for an average American or more than 300,000 manufacturing jobs created during his presidency. If President Trump’s promises are continued to be kept, it will be increasingly difficult for Democrats to win, especially if democratic strongholds like Flint are continually targeted by county Republican parties across the state.

Dominic Jakubowski is a college freshman at Kettering University who is currently perusing dual bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He attended Cardinal Mooney High School in Marine City and graduated with honors in 2018. Through Kettering’s cooperative education program, Dominic has obtained a position at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a Supplier Operations Engineer and works there on a rotational basis for six months of the year. For his entire life, Dominic has resided in Clay Township. From a young age, he knew that his passion was history, politics, and service for the country. He participated in scouting and obtained his Eagle Scout award at the age of 15. He has spent countless hours volunteering for political campaigns and has worked with youth leaders across the state to kick start youth involvement in the Republican Party. He is the current Chairman of the Kettering College Republicans, which he established during his first term on campus. Dominic desires to continue to be involved and hopes to one day become a leader in his community.
